Melvin Kejr, GeoprobeŽ Systems President, has been selected by his alma mater, Kansas State University, as an outstanding alum.  The Kansas State University Alumni Association recognized him and 8 others in their K-Stater publication.  Mel was also featured on the front page of K-State Salina's K-Techer newsletter. Alumni Fellows of 2002
Distinguished alumni return to campus to share career experiences with students, faculty

Nine K-Staters were selected Alumni Fellows for 2002. They returned to
campus Feb. 25-26 to lecture in classes (on the Kansas State University
campus in Manhattan, KS) and to informally meet with students and faculty during Alumni Fellows Week.

Since 1983, nearly 150 Alumni Fellows have participated in the program
sponsored by the Deans' Council, the President's Office and the Alumni
Association. The program recognizes alumni who have distinguished  themselves in their careers.

(The 2002 Alumni Fellows are from Kansas City, MO; Danville, CA; Dover, KS; Boston, MA; McPherson, KS; Topeka, KS; Santa Fe, NM; Eureka, KS; and Salina, KS.)

Melvin Kejr '79
Melvin Kejr is founder and president of Kejr, Inc., in Salina, KS. The company sells products around the world under the brand names of GeoprobeŽ and Veris Technologies.

This includes the first compact soil probing machines for the
environmental subsurface investigation industry. The company also has
introduced other tools for the precision ag market.

For this work, Kejr received his first U.S. patent for his development of
a unique combine platform.

He received an associate's degree in mechanical engineering from the Kansas Technical Institute, now K-State Salina.
