Although the Geoprobe® brand is well-recognized in the Environmental Industry, after 20 years in business Geoprobe Systems® remains a small company in Kansas, working hard to turn ideas into reality that create profitable equipment for their customers.
Because of its name recognition, it's hard not to think that the Geoprobe® brand emerges from a sprawling manufacturing complex with thousands of people and lots of parking spaces. But don't be fooled. This small company, with just over 100 people, still uses the modest quonset building that housed all of the company functions in 1987, and continues to focus on making the best products for their customers. Cattle have been in the spotlight lately. A few years ago, Clara Peller wanted to know “Where’s the beef?” The dairy industry asks if we’ve “Got Milk?”, and the beef industry tells us, “Beef! It’s What’s For Dinner!”. Today, television proudly announces that happy cows live in California! What makes these beefy bovines so popular? Americans are in love with hamburgers; so much so we consume more than 14 billion burgers per year! That translates in to a lot of cattle in feedyards around the nation, and especially in Nebraska. If you add dairy, pork, and poultry to the equation, waste management, or more appropriately nutrient management, at Concentrated Animal Feeding Operations (CAFOs) becomes extremely important.
