The entire Model 540U unit, including the power plant, hydraulics, probe, vacuum/volume system, (optional), and probe rod rack, is self-contained and mounts to the carrier vehicle with only four bolts.  Shields around the power supply are easily removed for service from either the back or side of the unit.
