Customers
have found the Model 6620DT to be highly productive in both shallow
and deep sampling venues. The stronger, wider undercarriage allows
this machine to be used on concrete or pavement, and enables the machine
to readily negotiate in tight, confining work areas and on offroad,
rugged terrain. And with the variety of options available, it's uniquely
flexible to switch from environmental to geotechnical work with little
time and effort. |

An
easy-to-use, well-planned control panel is located close to probing
or augering activities to assist in smooth field operation. A 12-volt
outlet on the side of the control panel can power various accessories
or accommodate a 110-volt inverter for equipment such as the Slug
Test Kit, Electrical
Conductivity Logging System, or a peristaltic pump. |
|
|
A
reformatted wireless remote control transmitter provides precise control
of engine functions as well as track movement. |
|
|
An
onboard recharger keeps a second battery ready for the wireless remote
control transmittter. An optional machine vise assists when working
with tools and samplers. |
|
|
Auxiliary
hydraulic ports provide power for equipment such as the DH66 Automatic
Drop Hammer, Macro-Core® Liner Extruder, or grout machine. |
|
|
Rear
outriggers provide stability for the machine when advancing tools
or when uneven terrain plays a role in sampling or logging functions. |
|
|
The
heart and soul of every Geoprobe® machine is the GH60 Hammer,
which is standard equipment on the 6620DT machine. The GH60 Hammer
was designed specifically for soil probing applications and hits at
over 1,900 blows per minute and delivers forces greater than 80,000
pounds per blow to the top of the probe rod. The GH60 Hammer has bi-directional
rotation and can break through concrete in minutes. Use it with breaker
bits or coring bits to make a clear path for sampling. |

Optional
Equipment -- DH100
Automatic Drop Hammer:
Adds to the versatility of the machine by allowing geotechnical standard
penetration tests. Uses auxiliary hydraulics on machine for repeatable
and accurate blow count results. |
|
|
Optional
Equipment -- Overhead Mast and Hydraulic Winch:
Designed to relieve operator fatigue associated with heavy lifting
of large tooling and augers. Also helpful for tripping dual tube samplers.
Lifting capacity is approximately 3,000 pounds with a line capacity
up to 65 fpm. Individual components include a 12-foot overhead mast
with swivel tophead, hydraulic winch with 30-feet of wire cable, swivel
hook, and quick disconnect hydraulic lines.
|
|
|
Optional
Equipment -- Water Transport System:
Provides field operators a source for 25 gallon (94 L) of water
in a polyethylene water tank mounted on the two-inch receiver hitch.
|
|
|
Optional
Equipment -- Decontamination Rack:
Contains ample space for washing up to 5-foot probe rods or several
tools at once. Mounted next to the side tools rack, the decon rack
includes a hinged writing table and attaches to two receiver hitches
already built into the machine's frame. |
