Q: I often use a small inverter to power 110-Volt accessories from the 12VDC port of my 2002 Geoprobe® Model 54DT machine. This same setup does not work with our 2004 machine. What’s the deal?

A. The wiring configuration of 12VDC outlet receptacles was changed on Geoprobe® direct push machines beginning November 1, 2003. This change was made to conform to industry standards and allows connection of aftermarket accessories without concern of equipment damage.
